Profile

Evan Lau is currently servicing as a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Managing Editor of International Journal of Business and Society (IJBS), an internationally refereed journal indexed in SCOPUS bibliographic database, ProQuest publisher, Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory, Cabell’s Directories (Economics, Finance and Management) and EBSCO Host Publishing.

Courses that he has taught include History of Economic Thoughts, Principle of Economics, Applied Econometrics, Research Methodology for Economics and business, Econometric, Public Finance, Malaysian Economy, Current Economics Issue and Economic Research Method at undergraduate level; Firms, Institution and Competition at graduate level. He is actively involves in research covering the areas of Applied Economics and Econometrics, International Economics and Finance and also topics in Open Economy Macroeconomics. To date, he has 28 post-graduate students under his supervision. Also, he had successfully supervised 71 undergraduate students.


As at today, his publications are not less than 60 at hand. As an active researcher, several of his paper has been cited by the International refereed journals. For example, his article published in Journal of Asian Economics been recorded as in the Top 20 of the most requested articles in 2003 while his Japan and the World Economy paper is ranked No. 4 of the hottest articles in Science Direct database in first quarter 2006. In regard to this, he had also publish is the journals with impact factors obtained by the Thomson ISI lists such as Economics Letters, Economic Modelling, Journal of Policy Modeling, The Manchester School, Japan and the World Economy, Applied Economics, South African Journal of Economics, Applied Economics Letters, Singapore Economic Review, Journal of Asia Pacific Economy, African Journal of Business Management.
